Look Who's Donating to Support the Arts + Innovation Wing Renovation

Emma Thomas - The Evanstonian, August 23, 2023

"At ETHS we could try out everything from academics to arts and athletics, from career skills to extracurriculars, with all the freedom of our youthful years. It made a huge difference in my life; the directions I went after ETHS I never would have imagined. Wanting future ETHS students to be able to explore and experience as I did, that's why I already made a donation to ETHS as part of our 50th reunion class gift. Can you find it in your heart to give back and help these young people, too?" - Betsy Robinson, ETHS (Michael) 1974

Arts + Innovation Wing long overdue for renovation

To graduate, every ETHS student is required to take at least three classes in the Arts + Innovation Department of the school – and some of us in the Class of 1974 took many more. The classrooms and facilities of the Arts + Innovation wing are pretty much the same as when we attended, and are overdue for renovation. This is why the ETHS Foundation has committed to fund new classrooms and flexible spaces, and possibly a new theatre, as part of the overall campus centennial campaign this fall.

Our Class of 1974 50th Reunion Class Gift can jump start the appeal. Thanks to the Emerald Gate Foundation and three generous classmates, we have $100,000 in matching gift funds that will double your donation! You can donate now at https://www.supporteths.org/class-of-1974-50th-reunion-class-gift/

Arts + Innovation at ETHS

We were so fortunate to have such a range of learning opportunities, and what ETHS offers today is even broader:

  • Fine Arts – provides a variety of experiences in Visual Art, Vocal Music, Band, Orchestra, Debate and Theatre.
  • Career and Technical Education – invites students to explore real-world career and job-related skills in Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, Arts and Communication, Finance and Business Services, Health Sciences and Technology, Human and Public Services, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Engineering and Trades

Why donate now?

The $100,000 gift match is the greatest ever for an ETHS class reunion gift. Think how much we can help the renovation if we are able to use it all! ETHS Foundation dedicated this page for donations which has more information  https://www.supporteths.org/class-of-1974-50th-reunion-class-gift/

Your donation of any size will also give us more to celebrate when we present the Class Gift during the school tour on Saturday morning September 14 as part of our 50th Reunion weekend. And if you donate by June 30, you will be listed in the ETHS Fiscal Year 2024 Donor Honor Roll (unless you choose your gift to be anonymous).

Thank you very much for considering a donation.

Can we also count on you to attend the reunion?

Come and celebrate with your classmates at the Main Event on Saturday September 14 at 5 PM at the beautiful Lakeview Room at the Glenview Park District. Discount tickets available until July 21. Capacity is limited and we are already over 25% sold out.  https://www.eths1974.com/Register-and-buy-2024-tickets.htm
